The Beginning
Started as a white belt under Coach Thushara Rathnayaka, at a time when only two clubs in Colombo offered structured Gi training. Affiliated with the Avi Nardia and John Machado BJJ lineages.
Progression
Promoted to Blue Belt with 2 stripes by Prof. Florin Cernat in 2023, alongside multiple tournament stripe promotions along the way.
Giving Back
Now an Assistant Instructor with the TEBA BJJ team, introducing the discipline to striking clubs such as Black Panther Fight Club and YBLR Boxing Academy, and coaching the Kids MMA team — spreading the art of BJJ across Sri Lanka.
