KRAV MAGA
Martial arts have been an integral part of my identity since my early teenage years. My journey began with inter-house wrestling tournaments in school and evolved into an interest in boxing, which became one of the most memorable highlights of my school days. During that time, I explored a variety of sports including swimming, long jump, high jump, sprinting (100m/200m), shot put, and rugby. However, none resonated with me as deeply as martial arts.
After completing 13 years of primary and secondary education, I found myself somewhat adrift, still yearning for the adrenaline and discipline combat sports provided. I tried various classes in and around Colombo, but none felt quite right. After a period of searching, a colleague recommended a class in Moratuwa. Though I had originally set out to train in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), the closest available option was Krav Maga—a system that incorporated many MMA elements.
I decided to try it, and it quickly became apparent that Krav Maga was the perfect fit. I developed a deep appreciation for the discipline and continued training diligently, eventually progressing up to the blue belt level.

A few years down the line, I took a strategic step towards BJJ and said my farewell to Krav Maga.
